The Minister of Health the Hon. Kim Wilson JP MP said: "As we enter the holiday weekend, I want to wish everyone an enjoyable but safe National Heroes Day weekend. I urge all residents to please play it safe by keeping space (at least six feet) between yourself and others. Don’t visit crowded beaches or parks where you cannot stay at least six feet away from others at all times, no raft-ups, and in situations where you have to be in closer proximity to others not in your household, wear a mask. We have to stay masked if we are going to be within three to six feet of other persons for more than 15 minutes. Practice everyday steps such as washing hands often and covering coughs and sneezes. Avoid gathering with others beyond your household, if you can or keep you ‘social bubbles’ small and limited to only a few individuals. And, finally, don’t socialize with others or visit parks or beaches if you are sick or were recently exposed to COVID-19. I would like to encourage everyone to please use common sense in the coming days and weeks. Think before you commit to a social plan. Think: Is this safe? Am I being responsible? Is this plan putting me or anyone else at risk? If you hesitate for even a moment in answering these questions, then please, don’t do it. Remember - the more interactions you have with others and the more you are out and about, the more at risk you put yourself and those in your household.”

Members of the public are invited to tune-in to a Facebook Live broadcast by the Government of Bermuda on Wednesday June 17 at 2pm where Bermuda's Chief Medical Officer Dr. Cheryl Peek-Ball and BHB's Chief of Medicine Dr. Michael Ashton will answer any medical questions you may have regarding COVID-19. Go to the link facebook.com/bermudagovernment and submit your question either in advance or during the live broadcast.

Residents are encouraged to know their COVID-19 status and take advantage of the free COVID-19 testing being offered by the Ministry of Health at any of their pop-up locations or their drive-through testing site at Southside. To make an appointment for testing or just show up.
