Coronavirus infections continue to rise in the US Virgin Islands (USVI), with the [US] Virgin Islands Department of Health reporting 26 new cases Tuesday night, July 14, 2020 - 16 on St Croix, 8 on St Thomas and 2 in St John.
According to DOH's latest infographic, St Thomas has 117 test results pending, followed by St Croix with 81, and St John with 1 pending case for a total of 199 territory-wide.
Total confirmed cases stood at 243 as of Tuesday night, with 125 active cases - 95 on St Croix, 25 on St Thomas and 5 in St John. So far 112 individuals have recovered, DOH said.
Territory-wide 5,079 tests have been performed, with 4,637 returning negative.
DOH said 1 case on St Croix was transmitted through community spread, two through close contact, one through travel and 12 were under investigation.
All 8 St Thomas cases were under investigation as of Tuesday evening, and the latest two cases in St John being transmitted via community spread.
