A male car driver arrested after a collision left a motorist injured

A man was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst impaired, after a serious traffic collision occurred and left a motorcycle rider with injuries.
9.42pm last night police received a report of a collision between a car and a motorcycle on North Shore Road in Devonshire, near the Mid Atlantic Boat Club, said a police spokesperson.

According to the spokesperson: The male motorbike rider sustained a broken nose and other facial injuries as well as a broken ankle.

He was transported via ambulance to King Edward VII Hospital for treatment to his injuries, which are not thought to be life threatening."

The car driver was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst impaired after he failed the breath test.

Traffic Collision Investigators as well as officers from the Forensics Unit attended, and the roadway between Dock Hill and Barker’s Hill was blocked off while the scene was processed.
