Bermuda Bicycle Association Road Race Advisory

Cycle Race Route

Adults

Lindo’s parking lot Middle Road Warwick, head east on Middle Road to Manse Road. Left on Manse Road and then right on Harbour Road to The Lane, left at the roundabout on to East Broadway, Front Street and Pitts Bay Road, then left on St. John’s Road. Right on North Shore Road to Flatts and continue on North Shore Road to Blue Hole Hill. Left on Blue Hole Hill, The Causeway, Kindley Field Road. At the Swing Bridge turn left on Mullet Bay Road, continuing on Wellington Street and York Street into St. George. Turn left on Kent Street and then right on Government Hill Road and right on Sapper Lane. Turn right on Old Military Road and right on Barrack Hill into York Street heading west. York Street to Wellington Street and Mullet Bay Road. At the roundabout after crossing the Swing Bridge turn left on St. David’s Road. St. David’s Road to Texas Road, turn right and the right on to Orange Hole Road, make the right hand turn onto Tommy Fox Road following this road until it becomes Southside Road, then making the right turn at the first roundabout on to Lower Gates Road and then a left on St. David’s Road. At the roundabout head west on Kindley Field Road, cross The Causeway and Blue Hole Hill to the roundabout. Go straight on North Shore Road and continue to Flatts going onto Middle Road. Turn left off Middle Road on Corkscrew Hill and then merge onto Crow Lane. Go through the roundabout onto Trimingham Road and then right at the roundabout on to South Road. Go through the Paget traffic lights, staying on South Road, to the end at Barnes Corner. Left on Middle Road, crossing Somerset Bridge and on Somerset Road which becomes Mangrove Bay Road, Malabar Road, Cockburn Road and Pender Road in to Dockyard. Make a U turn in front of the Clocktower (around the bollard) and return on Pender Road, then Cockburn Road to Malabar Road, Mangrove Bay Road, Somerset Road and Middle Road, now heading east. Stay on Middle Road to a left on Burnt House Hill and then Harbour Road. Finish is in front of 60 Harbour Road, just west of the intersection with Chapel Road.

Cyclists will make a maximum of 1 lap.

TRAFFIC CONTROL:

The bicycle race will commence on Sunday 22nd November at 7:30am and is expected to be concluded by 10:30 am. All motorists are expected to use caution and avoid collusion with race participants.   The race route will be under Police and Race Official control. Motorists are asked to follow Race Official instructions to assist with traffic control for this event. 

ROADS CLOSED:

There will be no road closures to traffic while this bicycle race takes place but motorists are asked to use caution. They must also allow cyclists to participate and give way when directed by Police and Race Officials.

PARKING:

 

There will be no parking restriction for this bicycle race but motorists are permitted to park in designated parking bays along any part of the race route. Additionally motorists must not block the race route or impede the participants in the bicycle race.


In addition, the Bermuda Police are hereby authorized to “control traffic flow” on streets or portions of streets and authorize parking as the Commissioner of Police decides.
