Bermuda reports 3 new COVID-19 cases, 31 May 2021

The Ministry of Health received 5816 test results since the last update, and three were positive for COVID-19. This gives a test positivity rate of 0.05%. 
These results are from testing done on Wednesday (three positive out of 1327 results (0.2% positivity), Thursday (0 positive out of 1660 results (0.0% positivity)), Friday (0 positive out of 1434 results (0.0% positivity)) and Saturday (0 positive out of 1395 results (0.0% positivity)).

Additionally, there were 13 recoveries and one death which occurred over the weekend.

There are currently 20 active cases, of which;

• 19 are under public health monitoring and;

• One in the hospital, with none in intensive care.

Since March 2020, Bermuda has recorded 2494 total confirmed cases of COVID-19; out of those, 2441 persons have recovered, and sadly, 33 COVID related deaths.

The source of all cases is as follows:

· 305 are Imported

· 2172 are classified as local transmission of which:

o 1678 are Local Transmission with known contact/source and

o 494 are Local Transmission with an unknown contact/source

· 17 are Under Investigation

As investigations proceed, transmission categories may change.

Bermuda’s current WHO country status remains “Community Transmission”.

“For those people who want to hear about the COVID-19 vaccine from a trusted source, we recommend the Close to Home programme as an ideal opportunity to learn more,” said Kim Wilson, JP, MP, Minister of Health. “There are doctors on site to answer any questions that you may have. You don't need an appointment. You can just show up and roll up your sleeve.

“There is also a free mini-bus service to take people from their homes to the mobile vaccination sites and back to their homes afterwards. Call 533-5903 between 10.00 am and 1.30 pm if you need a ride to one of the mobile vaccination sites.

“If you need assistance getting vaccinated or have questions, please contact vaccine@gov.bm or call the hotline 444-2498 and select Option #2. The Vaccine Call Centre is available from 8 am – 4 pm, Monday to Friday and Saturdays from 9 am - 3 pm. The Call Centre is closed on Sundays. You don’t need an appointment for any location. Just show up for your first shot of the vaccine.”

· TN Tatem school field on Thursday, 3 June (10am – 2pm)

· Victor Scott Primary School on Sunday, 6 June (10am – 2pm)

· Bermuda College Vaccination Centre, Monday – Friday (31 May – 8 June) 9am – 1pm

· Bermuda College Vaccination Centre, Jab and Jam event Saturday 5 June 10am – 6pm

· KEMH Vaccination Centre

o Saturday and Sunday (5 and 6 June) Walk-ins 8am-6pm; scheduled appointments 8am -8pm

o Monday and Tuesday (7 and 8 June) Walk ins and scheduled appointments 8am-8pm

8 JUNE, 2021 is the last day for the first shot of the Pfizer vaccine. After 8 June, you can get the Astra Zeneca until 30 June.
