BPS Investigating Three Separate Crashes Overnight

Single vehicle crash in Southampton, three vehicle collision in Southampton and a single vehicle motorbike crash in Pembroke.

Single Vehicle Car Crash in Southampton: Driver Sought

Around 12:10am today, Monday January 18th, police officers responded to a reported single vehicle car crash on Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Luke’s Pond Road.

On arrival, the car said to be involved in the incident was found unoccupied and extensively damaged.

Initial inquiries suggest that the vehicle was being driven east and struck a wall along Middle Road, Southampton – temporarily preventing traffic flow in either direction.

Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service personnel also attended the scene and cleared the roadway of debris before the damaged car was towed away, allowing regular traffic flow to resume.

Efforts to locate the car’s driver and any passenger(s) continues. Witnesses or persons with relevant information are encouraged to call Constable Kirsteen Brown on 247-1704 or make contact via e-mail kbrown@bps.bm.

Two Women Hurt, One Seriously, After Three Vehicle Collision

Around 11:45pm Sunday, January 17th a reported three vehicle collision occurred at the junction of Middle Road and Lighthouse Road in Southampton.

It appears that two female motorcyclists – riding separate motorcycles – were traveling east along Middle Road, Southampton when they overtook a car being driven east along Middle Road and struck another car being driven in the opposite direction.

The injured riders, said to be a 22-year-old woman and a 20-year-old woman –both believed to be Pembroke residents – were transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.

At last check the 20-year-old woman was in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit with head and facial injuries while the 22-year-old woman was to be admitted to a general ward with wrist, foot and head injuries described as non-life threatening at this time.

The westbound car driver, believed to be a 32-year-old Sandys parish man, was not hurt.

The eastbound car was not involved in the collision.

The crash scene was processed by the relevant police personnel and inquiries continue.

Any additional witnesses are encouraged to call 211, 295-0011 or the Roads Policing Unit on 247-1788 as soon as possible.

Male Rider Injured in Reported Single Vehicle Motorcycle Crash

Around 8:50pm Sunday, January 17th a reported single vehicle motorcycle crash occurred at the junction of North Shore Road and Black Watch Pass in Pembroke.

It appears that the male motorcyclist involved struck the round-a-bout at the junction.

The injured rider, believed to be a 56-year-old Pembroke man, was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.

His injuries are not believed to be life threatening at this time.

The crash scene was processed by the relevant police personnel and inquiries continue.
