Royal Caribbean will offer cruises to the Bahamas and Mexico in June, the company said.

“Travelers thinking about their summer vacation can book their roundtrip cruise on Wednesday March 24th and set sail starting June 12th. The new itineraries with departure until August, which will sail with a vaccinated crew, will be available for adult guests who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19,” said the cruise operator in a statement.

Passengers under the age of 18 must test negative, the statement added.

"Vaccines are clearly a game changer for all of us, and with the number of vaccines and their impact growing rapidly, we believe that starting with cruises for vaccinated adult guests and crew is the right choice," Michael Bayley, President and CEO of Royal Caribbean stated. "As we move forward, we expect this requirement and other measures to inevitably evolve over time."

Celebrity Cruises, which is owned by Royal Caribbean, also announced that it will restart cruises departing from St. Maarten in June.

It is unclear whether the company will expand the vaccination requirement for future cruises.
